Well, you would have to first suspect there's a problem. In my case the receptacle wasn't fully seated. THen you have to have the tools to remove the pins. Again in my case I noted a couple of them seemed to have loose wires when crimped so I broke out my wire crimper and fixed that. Once I reassembled it and plugged th unit in it worked perfectly.

Of course if it came all together from the factory, but this is not the case here. The alarm system has been added later. I myself installed it, and have now to get it activated.

If your bike came from the factory with the alarm installed then it should just work like the manual says. At least mine did. What model/history etc do you have?

Sorry, I have not been entirely clear on the matter!

I'm not looking to have the alarm go off, but to activate a newly installed alarm system on the bike. The normal procedure to have this done is to have any BMW service station to hook the bike up and run the diagnostics, by this discover the newly installed alarm system and have it added to the functions.

Here my question is if this first time activation can be done via the GS-911 WiFi unit instead?

I took the connector (receptacle) off the bike and found a couple of loose pins. Looks someone was messing with it or it was bad from OEM. Regardless, I recrimped them and now it works perfectly. Thanks for the suggestions fellas.

I don't think there is anyway to activate it other than to pick it up off the side stand and/or push it around, at least that's what I did ::)

Hi all!
Can the BMW alarm system be activated by any method using the GS-911 WiFi unit? The GS-911 will discover the alarm unit, but can it be activated?

What to do to clear this fault? I just got it, it's registered, WiFi works, connects to my phone directly or in infrastructure mode, and it worked fine both connected and via WiFi the first time I used. Just comepleted a 6k service and now it won't connect. Any ideas?

might as well record the ID number of each sensor so next time you can just write them in instead of having to force wake the sensors each time.
saves a few minutes but it's worth it :-)

With every bike I service, the sensor IDs are recorded and written in the cover of the clients service book.
