ESA Module replaced - VIN mismatch
« on: December 01, 2024, 12:48:21 AM »
I had issues with my ESA on my 2019 F850GSA recently and the solution was to replace the control module as there was no way I could correct the problem with the original one. There was a calibration fault code that would not clear, all other components of the system tested OK. I was able to source a used module and with it installed the system functions normally again and no codes are present, however when I scan the bike the GS911 shows a message indicating the VIN for the ESA module is mismatched which is not surprising. What I'd like to know is, can this be reprogrammed with the GS911 to correct the VIN or is that a dealer only function if possible at all?
