Unable to reset service indicator
« on: September 09, 2023, 07:15:09 PM »
Hi guys
I bought a 2007 R1200GS last November, and bought my GS911 tool this week.  Have looked through all the checks and tests etc and decided to reset my service indicator to a date when I changed the oil and filter about 2 months ago. Note: the service indicator light is not showing, nor have I ever seen it.
When I go into the GS911 diagnostics to change the service date, it thinks about it for a couple of seconds and then just crashes out of the GS911 programme. I have to log back in again.
Can anyone tell me
1. Do you have to wait for the service light to come on first before you can reset it?
2. Does my bike even have a service indicator light? Anyone else got a 2007 GS who could confirm.
Thanks.

Hi Frogger,

If memory serves me right the Service Reminder was only implemented from the 2009 R models. Perhaps just do a search to confirm this.

Thanks Skim, from the little I can find, I think you are right about the service indicator only being active from 2009, maybe even 2008. So I won’t bother looking for it anymore. 👍🏼
