General Discussion / Dynamic pro/Enduro pro set-up ...
Last post by Tittung - February 20, 2026, 02:33:09 PM
Hello all, I have a 2021 1250GS Adventure with 4 riding modes (Dynamic, Rain, Eco, Road), and in the TFT settings, I can see the option to add Dynamic and Enduro Pro, but I don't have the red dongle that allows me to add these 2 extra modes. Can I add them using the GS911, or is software from the BMW dealer needed? Many thanks in advance.

So, should I see XDWA on the menu? have you retrofitted xdwa?

whilst I agree help pages / how to info is harder to find than I think it should be - there are some hidden gems about.

I have not tried to fit the later alarm - but in general the way BM go about things doesn't change, is not clever or indeed complex - its just a few little understood bits of fun to jump through - that said things are changing - From late 2025, the bike's are now unmanageable for retrofitting some toys - they have removed access for playtime on the newer stuff - and only direct contact online with base can allow you to get at modules the way you could on the older bikes

Re XDWA I expect the stumbling block you are having is with the VO list not showing the new option you want to get working - VO = vehicle order - is a list of toys / options on the bike at build - when its all aligned across associated modules, it allows canbus comms to make things work / or behave correctly.

Very few tools ever allowed you to get at or add modules to the VO - indeed if BMW ever plug it in to programme / update it will wipe the VO back to the one matching their records - and then the real fun starts - as they start programming the wrong software to the wrong module and it crashes out confused - and will remain confused till the toy is removed and the bike put back to std - or their VO records are updated with that option.

Often retrofitting at a dealer involves a long awkward chat at the parts counter ordering the option - you buy the right to have the toy on your bike - effectively paying for the software licencing rights and overnight BM update their VO records - meaning next time its plugged in it lists the bike as needing an i-level software update (integration level).  First thing it does is flash the new VO list at the modules that need it (old bikes it was the ZFE, Kombi and DME), and then each module one by one in a specific order gets flashed with software (updated if there is any, or a new version of what it had).

I have no idea if your bike can have that alarm module - one way is to find a bike that is the spec you want to replicate - and take a photo of the VIN - then go here https://bimmer.work/ (or one like it) and check its VO - it will list on another tab what options it has

just to confuse the

DWA option was 0603   Alarm system
XDWA option says 0603   SA Anti-Theft Alarm System

here it only listed USA region bikes - and seems to have another version of an alarm ?

Last post by waynehex - February 12, 2026, 04:13:56 PM
South African adventure riders – if you've been thinking about upgrading your lighting setup before your next trip, this one's for you.

HEX Diagnostics now stocks the popular DENALI DL2 and DL4 LED Auxiliary Lights – available in either super-bright white or high-visibility yellow lenses. These are DENALI's brightest and most durable DL Series driving lights yet, built to handle everything from long tar transfers to proper gravel passes and late-night farm roads.

What makes them especially appealing for local riders?

💡 Outstanding beam performance – proper distance and spread for real-world riding

🛠 Tough construction – built for adventure bikes and rough conditions

Plug & play with HEX ezCAN – no cutting into your OE wiring harness

🔧 Full integration with your HEX ezCAN Accessory Manager

🏍 Rider-friendly dimming and safety features you can tailor to your riding style

If you're already running a HEX ezCAN, installation is straightforward and fully integrated – keeping your factory wiring intact and your warranty safe. You'll also be able to configure brightness levels, strobe with hooter, and other safety features to suit your environment – whether that's urban commuting or remote dirt routes.

Starting from R3,100 per pair, they offer serious performance without blowing the farkle budget.

Stock is limited and these are moving quickly. If better visibility and added road presence are on your upgrade list, it's worth having a look sooner rather than later.

👉 Visit www.HEXdiagnostics.co.za to see the full range and secure your set.

Supplied directly from the HEX Microsystems office in Cape Town.

ezCAN / EzCan battery leads wire gauge...
Last post by AdamWade - February 09, 2026, 01:23:40 AM
I have an Ezcan for Ducati and I'm looking for the wire gauge spec on the battery leads for positive and neg.

I need to extend them since the battery on the new 2025 MTSV2 is way up front.  I don't want o creat any resistance issues so I want to mach the exact wire gauges.

Thanks!

UPDATE

it was not possible to calibrate the throttle with the GS-911 or the TEXA scan tool.

However, the BMW dealer was able to calibrate and save the setting with OEM tool.
value was around 80%

just re reading this thread and now I'm confused....

if it has a conventional throttle what part of the throttle calibration were you trying to sort out - if its not fly-by wire surely there is no electronic throttle valve set up ?

Introduce yourself... / New from the Netherlands
Last post by Louis - January 30, 2026, 06:17:03 PM
Hi, my name is Louis and I am living in the Netherlands. I ride a BMW R1250GS Trophy 2022, and previously I also rode a BMW R1150RT. For diagnostics and maintenance, I want to use my new GS-911 WiFi, which I have already updated with the latest firmware and connected to my mobile phone so I can use it while travelling on holiday trips. My main goal is to perform simple maintenance myself, and I have found that there is plenty of information available to get started with the GS-911. I am keen to learn from the forum and, if needed, hope to ask questions in the future. When my motorbike comes out of winter storage, I plan to connect the device and try it out for the first time.

Greetings!

Sounds like the controller shut it down due to a fault or unmet preconditions. Check battery voltage, fault codes, and make sure the mechanism isn't binding. The ZFE can disable the circuit without blowing a fuse.
