Quickshifter
« on: March 21, 2026, 07:41:58 PM »
So I’m currently trying to diagnose a problem with my 2020 BMW 1250 GSA quickshifter.

The gear selector locks during a downshift….intermittently.

The ECU takes its info for a downshift from the throttle twist grip sensor, the rear wheel speed sensor and the load applied to the shift assistant pro module, to cut the load to the gearbox.

I’ve done a wiggle test on the wiring going to the throttle unit. When wiggling the wire and the connector and moving the handlebars full lock in both directions, the twist grip position on the live values shows a reading. But only between 0.02 and 0.65%. That’s only wiggling the wire and not touching the throttle.

Is this enough to cause a problem with sending a zero, “the throttle is at idle” message to the ECU and is it likely to be the throttle unit or the connector.

Cheers…JB
