Really basic questions (I hope)

Hi all
I have just bought a 18 reg BMW F800gt and have started to fit the ezCAN  unit.
Prior to this I removed the previous owners "optimiser cable" and installed my own. ( battery disconnected)
So far I have connected the ezCAN to the battery terminals and also connected the green horn cable. I have then connected the ezCAN to the pc and registered and upgraded the software.
I have two (maybe more) questions:
Nothing is connected yet
I tried to set the outputs to aux lights1, aux lights2, and brake/rear lights and ignore the last channel
even though I set the channels and save it, when I come to the settings" the cannels are showing- aux1 L aux1R and brake light (this seems to be default.
Is this the default and is it because I have nothing connected?

since I did the install my bike is now showing the ASC light flashing and the ABS and engine management light illuminated.
Any ideas?

USER ERROR
I managed to disconnect the cable to the right of the battery.
This was causing all the faults- nothing to do with ezCan!!
