2018 F850 GSA starting question
« on: November 28, 2023, 09:19:25 PM »
Have a 2018 F850 GSA (the German motorcycle made in China)
Recently bike has not started when in gear but pressing the clutch
I noticed this bike started any time the first gear was selected and the clutch fully pressed but after a wile, this condition changed to no start
In order to start the bike it has to be in a neutral position no matter what
The question here is, what the normal condition of this bike is (start in gear or not)
Not 100% sure but may this condition change after a quick shifter calibration?

Hello
Check engine measurements, clutch switch is displayed there.
This switch will not work correctly, if necessary just correct the setting 8)

Check that the clutch lever micro switch is correctly plugged in at the perch.
Use your GS911 to observe the real time actuation of the clutch switch.
Have you removed and reinstalled the clutch lever recently?
Have you done anything recently? If so double check all those things for correct reassembly.

Problem solved
The clutch switch wire was the culprit
