bug on GEN 1
« on: August 28, 2020, 02:35:06 PM »
hello,
I had to get my ezCAN GEN 1 replaced (under warranty) because of sudden electrical short-circuits of the device
Occured on both 12v input (ezCan fuse burned) and can-bus circuit (7.5 fuse of the bike burned + error message on the TFT of the 1250 GSA)
Was working fine the day before, failed when starting the bike, with no clear reason

Do you confirm that GEN 2 is more reliable and is solving this issue ?
(...or should I switch-off the ezCAN (with an additional manual switch and/or relay !?) when starting the engine or charging the batterie to avoid such issue ?)

Thanks

the GEN-II devices have various improvements on the GEN-I devices and we have had non such issues on the GEN-II devices.

At present we have a couple factors more GEN-II devices out in the field and with no issues that's pretty good and I think you can rest assured.

currently riding:
BMW F850GS Adv - slightly modified
HD Pan America - development bike for ezCAN
