Hi Guys,
A club member in the UK has just bought a 2006 R1200R with 9000 miles on the clock. He serviced it. When the ignition switch is switched on the warning lights come on, the system runs a quick check and needles go around on the two clocks as it is supposed to.
However, before the engine is started the oil light starts flashing quickly and then immediately goes out when the engine starts. Plenty of oil in the engine.
I understood that this is an indication of low pressure?
A GS-911 was connected up, but no faults were listed. The Factory I-level reads K024-06-08-500 and Actual I-level not set.
On some 1200s there is a sensor to tell that oil is low and it flashes. This engine does not have the mounting hole on the right hand side beside the engine number. The sensor part no. is 13627673502. Motorworks no. ENE73502 which cannot be fitted to the 1200R.
A fellow club member has the same year bike and his oil light does not flash.
Any suggestions?
Regards
Mike
