Just to put you in the picture, I have a 2011 K1300S with 65k miles on clock where I am, with the aid of my friend (who is a mechanic) are going to replace the dreaded upper and lower from suspension ball joints as on last MOT (i'm in UK) noted about the ball joint play. Whilst going to start we also noted a leak from my front shock
so I have found a company in UK (firefox racing) who will do a complete strip and rebuild as BMW want £900 just for the shock!!
My question is, guy at BMW said the shock may need a calibration on their computer after refitting, however guy at firefox said it shouldn't as its the same one going back in....
I don't have a GS-911, but i'm not opposed to buying one, but can anyone please tell me if this procedure needs to be done?? Also has anyone done their ball joints before?
