A real noob question: My wife has a 2017 F700GS and I want to reset the service indicator after an oil change.
However, I have looked under the seat, in the tail and behind the two small side covers in the frame - no luck.
Where did they hide it on this model?!?

GS Jim

It should be under the seat just aft of the shock preload adjuster tool, or at least it was on the 2015

CRKrogh

It isn't - I've been under the seat and the airbox cover, nothing. :P

Page 14 of your manual shows it there, also consult page 131, are you the original owner, is it possible someone has rerouted the wiring to move it?

It just turned out, I was looking for the wrong plug: I was expecting to find the same round diag plug, as on my R1200GS (K50), but in '17 BMW changed to the same 16-pin OBD plug, used in cars for some years now.
Solution is to get the OBD converter for the GS911.  :)

GS Jim

Yes that is the industry standard now for all Euro I believe. I had to get one for my 2018 R 1200 GS. The short one will fit in the GS 911 case so you can carry it with you on trips. Glad you are all sorted now.

Funny thing is, NEtech ApS (agent in Denmark) thought the same, but it seems that ie. Ducati sticks with the "old" type.
Anyway, the service indicator has now been reset and confirmation of no fault codes present.  ;D

Just fyi: All new bikes from 2017 onwards with EU4 standard should have the 16-pin OBDII connector .....but only if they are "newly delevoped" means "older constructions" might still have older diag plug connectors.
