Ignition coil test

Since a long time to count irregular running idle the engine after the spark plug replacement so I would like to test or measure the resistance ignition coils. The service book shows values of resistance as they should. Anyone know how to do it and where to measure it? Where can I find terminals 15 and 1 + 4a and 4b?

Thank you for advices.

Martin

Hello Martin,

some times it's better to use the VIN.

At my knowledge, this ignition coils are only connected with 3 wires. Secondary resistance can't be measured.

Primary resistance
pin 1 - pin 3: 0.3 Ω ... 4.0 Ω

Insulation, primary to secondary
pin 1 - secondary: greater than 500 kΩ

Insulation, secondary to ground
pin 2 - secondary: greater than 500 kΩ

It is not possible to measure and evaluate the secondary resistance of the ignition coil with a multimeter because a diode to suppress switch-on sparking is connected in series in the secondary circuit beside the secondary winding.

Hope this helps.

Here's my VIN:WB10581A05ZL97622

I have not had thrown the spark plug. Ignition coil I still did not hold in my hand and do not know where and how to measure ... When to Disassemble'll probably slightly clever :)

Hi Martin,

as I wrote above.

There is something wrong with your manual ::)
