Configuration to float level

Hi,

I'm trying to configure the fuel  level  from strip sensor to float but in ZFE Service appears just the calibration for strip sensor.
Where can I find the "Thermo Coupler FLS 08" to change the value to Potentiometer?
Could you please show me a step by step for this case?

For your information, all software updates have been performed since 2019, when I purchased the GS-911 scanner.

Thank you in advance.

it should say if your ZFE is compatible for the swap - is it not under autoscan info section (its somewhere)

they don't do it with manual steps to try and get there like they do with the other tool
the GS911 tool is more automated in its retrofit changes - and maybe without you realising it backs up your settings and just does the code changes for you...

you must have a ZFE High module to have either or choice - that comes on RT bikes with cruise control and or ESA on stuff like a GS

Hi Botus,

If there is an option to choose the tank level sensor type—either capacitive (strip type) or resistive (float type), this choice should be independent of the specific ZFE module installed on the motorcycle.

The strip type sensor was used for only a short period; due to the fragility of the 400 individual circuits it contained, BMW reverted to the old and knowed float type system.

The ZFE unit supports and recognizes both systems. Physically, the input connection at the ZFE must be modified: the pins located at positions 34 and 35 (for the strip type) must be reconnected to positions 21 and 37 (for the float type). And we must change de configuration on the software.

Since the ZFE internally supports both systems, the GS911 should be able to read all the configurations available within the ZFE processor.

thats how the other tool offers things - the way I understand it - the GS911 works out there is no point allowing you to check a box to make that change - if the rest of the bike / other elements of the coding will not allow it to function - so it just informs the user the bike isn't suitable for the swap

Actually - that's exactly how it is with the ZFE Basic High in my 2008 R1200GS - older iterations of the Red GS911 software used to allow me to swap that configuration - but it never functioned, now it flags isn't not suitable with a message

@Guilherme - are you fully aware only ZFE High units allow you to successfully do the swap to a Float - and that its way less accurate and either or sensor is still they way they build them - the best way to fix the strip sensor bikes is to use https://www.fuelsensortech.com/en
