K1200RS ABS Module can not be found
« on: March 26, 2015, 12:31:24 AM »
Hi all

Just purchased a GS-911 WiFi to help me sort out the flashing ABS lights.
Great bit of Kit, really please with it, worth every penny,  professional piece of Kit

The Bike is a 2000 K1200RS (UK) Have connected to bike and can read the Engine Module OK, but the ABS module can not be found  :-\
Have checked pins 14 & 15 to ensure the ABS module has power and it has.

Does this mean the ABS module has failed and not a mechanical pump problem, any thoughts on this would be gratefully received.

Hi all again.
Today I have done the pin 2 & 21 to ground trick to reset ABS module.  To my great surprise it worked, quick test drive and lights stayed out  :D

But the GS-911 still does not communicate with the ABS module (Engine OK), have checked cable/pin-20 to diagnostics plug and OK
I believe this is the ABSII version and that the GS-911 supports communicate with that model....?

Is there another reason the GS-911 will not communicate....?

Not certain why any of those who know your model better have not responded but if the GS911 has not recognised the ABS I would lodge a support ticket with Hexcode as it should be seeing it, it is usually better at seeing the ABS when BMW diags at times will not

You didn't say if you were using the PC app or not.   The note on the http://www.hexcode.co.za/products/gs-911/function-chart page says:

ABS-II : Also known as ABS-2 - the predecessor to integral ABS (iABS, also known as servo assisted) on most R850, R1100, R1150 and older K1200 models. (*Due to protocol timing constraints, ABS-II is ONLY supported in the Windows versions of the software!)

Were you using the app or the built in functions of the wifi version?

All sorted wish I had read that, ABS connected with no issues once using a PC... ::)

Well ABS lights have decieded to make a re-appearance, straight after I pulled out of a gritty lay-by and the rear wheel spun up a little on the gravel, (strange as this has no braking involved)
I updated the GS-911 unit before trying to connect with bike, then connected to bike and was able to reset fault codes using a 'Mac computer' and all is good again   :D

Keep up the excellent work with this GS-911 unit  :D

Did you read the fault code before clearing it?

Perhaps you have an underlying issue.
