Perhaps some thought should be considered to the difference between year models
The original side stand switch was a single pole single throw switch which changed the circuit supplying earth, the Part No between models changed with differences in cable length & connector to the harness, other starter lock outs were in play with diodes separating the circuits
Clearly on later models the individual lock outs, side stand/clutch/neutral, were moved to connection to an ECU & a firmware routine utilised to achieve a "calculated result" eliminating the diodes, circuit diagrams will provide the answers
