Beta software after one year's use
« on: October 13, 2014, 07:24:13 PM »
I have just purchased a GS-911 with Bluetooth and noticed that the full download of software (non Beta) for my 2006 BMW R1200RT SE does not cover the few extras like screen test etc. If I load up the newer Beta software then of course the extra tests are present.
My question is does the Beta software run out in three months and therefore cannot be used after this date?  So does this mean that after one year of purchase you have to keep paying for software updates as you cannot load up a package on your laptop to keep permanent with you?
Had initially used the UK BMW Club GS-911 to try out and realised that the Beta software loaded could no longer be used having received my own unit from ILexa.
Anybody clear this one up for me as the advertising does not seem to be helpful in keeping a permanent software package with the plug in adaptor?

Hi FlyingBrick,

At present you do not pay for any software updates.

When I send out the BMW Club's GS-911, the associated USB stick has the last known full (non-Beta) release as well as the latest Beta. If a beta expires while the unit is out, then the member can easily download the next Beta version (FOC).
