Helo from Washington Crossing Pa. USA
« on: September 23, 2014, 01:43:37 AM »
Just got my GS911 for my K1600GTL. Been waiting three years for it. I hated going to the dealer to have my service reminder reset plus when I got a Service Engine light  on now I can trace it down. While doing the first trail test on my bike I did find an issue with the audio system. A plug for the speaker had back out from the module making an open circuit for the right speaker, easy fix. Had a little trouble setting the mobile app due to  many wifi s in the garage.   But I am confuse about the GS911 connecting to my home wifi. I never had a menu come up asking for the SSID and the password that the direction stated would happen. Is the wifi jus for the mobile app?

Thanks for the help

Connect to the WiFi as you did with the mobile and on the main menu select WiFi Setup in that menu you can set up the SSID and password

There is also a set of install charts on the Hexcode Web site to guide you through  http://www.hexcode.co.za/gs-911wifi-setup

Thanks Waynec... I think I got.   Will have to try it on the bike. Using the USB to power the GS911 now.

So my house wifi won't reach my garage. I have a wifi repeater that has the same SSID with an X at the end. I can not get the GS911 to change networks form the one I set it up on to the one in my garage with the X on the end. I do not see the GS911 on my network. Just been using the phone app or the USB cable.

I got a code in the system that set off the Check engine light 3 times since I owned the bike. If I shut it down and restart it the light goes out. So now I can retrieve the code. This is the code.....
21F521 : Electric fuel pump, short circuit to battery positive.

Any ideal what this code could be and what the repair is?

Thanks

Re the repeater set up

Why change the SSID between the house and the Garage ?, you may find it is better to have the same SSID

Are the primary and repeater AP's the same make/model ?.

The error code suggests a bad connection to the fuel pump ie open circuit, perhaps over bad bumps ?

Maybe I misunderstand the way the Wi-Fi works. When I use the phone app I connect to the GS911 through it's Wi-Fi connection. When I use it at home the GS911 should be in my network list (like the other computers and Wi-Fi printer in the house). But when I go out to my garage the house Wi-Fi has a poor signal, so that's when I use the Wi-Fi repeater. they have different SSID and passwords.

Am I correct in believing that the GS911 should show up on my list of devices on my home or garage network?

The code on the bike shows up only on startup after I have been riding for a while.  Never while riding or when hitting bumps.

The next purchase I need to make are for the factory manuals (CD)

Thanks for the help

Where you have a repeater it would be normal to use the same SSID on the primary and repeater Access Points so as you walk through the house to the garage the device can transfer from one base station to the other

If you have a different SSID in the Garage then you would need to set up 2 separate networks on the GS911 and use the button to move from one to another

After a few hours I got my GS-911 on my garage network. I must of had an issue with some software I downloaded. I uninstalled all the software and reinstalled it and everything worked as designed. I have my garage network running and was able to connect to it through two computers that are on the network. I was able to connect to it through the D2D option and my phone app works too.

Earlier I had did an autoscan and found allot of codes in the system. Most due to me disconnecting item to install accessory. I deleted all the codes and reset my service reminder. It seems to me the K1600GTL runs smoother and shifts smoother ::)

Thanks for the help Waynec
