+1 to wanting this feature, but on a 2024 S1000XR!

BT Moto has a walkthrough doing it with bimmerutility for 2020-2023, and there's some jabroni on the various forums saying he can do it if you let him remote into your laptop while connected to the bike with an enet adapter, but I have a GS-911 sitting right here....

Just to update, we've finally gotten this released to beta, once some US testers confirm it's working as expected, we'll add that to our next release (hopefully before full summer for you guys)

Got them enabled on my 2024 S1000XR just now.  Quick, painless toggle.  The indicator is on the dash, the menu option to enable/disable is there, and they automatically toggle very quickly.

A quick video showing them toggling on and off from behind the dash and looking at the headlamps.  The LED running lights brighten significantly when the headlight itself is off:
