Resetting the adaptations values when engine is cold or hot?
« on: September 19, 2018, 08:05:12 PM »
What's the right thing to do; resetting the adaptations values when the engine is cold or hot (at operating temperature)?

Particularly these:
- throttle twist-grip sensor,
-throttle valve sensor,
-transmission position sensor.

Thanks in advance!

Hi GvG,

as I went through the drill myself:

Adaptation reset is usually done with engine cold.
After adaptation reset is done  run the engine at idle until warm (80 or 90 deg Celsius  - or fan turns on if watercooled).
Since I do not know which bike you refer to - this is the procedure for the F650 (single, FI model)

If you reset adaptation values - upon success - the GS 911 software will guide you trough the process.

What's the nest use of SnoreRX and the right thing to do; resetting the adaptations values when the engine is cold or hot (at operating temperature)?

Just out of curiosity, what can happen if the adaptation reset was done with the engine hot?
