Can someone please point me in the right direction to find out what things I can do with registering a vin number onto my system

Can I read fault codes, reset service lights - would be handy to know

Thanks for any help received

Hello
Long story short!
At my knowledge, GS 911 will ask you to store another VIN while reading the bike.
If your answer is NO, every following step will be canceled.

So I think, every changing on the bike will store a VIN.

Only the maintenance functions require registration of the VIN, you can do the emergency functions like read/clear fault codes & with the WiFi model real time logging, from memory there is an explanation of it on the Hexcode web site

You have not stated which unit you have, but, you can reset as many service reminders as you want, provided you have the "Professional" edition of the GS911.

If you have the "Enthusiast" version you can also reset service reminders, but only the first 10 of them.  After that it will not allow any further resets, although you will still be able to use the unit for the "Emergency Functionality"

Hope this makes it clear.

Just to clarify what Jughead said: for enthusiast devices, you can reset service reminders for the first 10 *bikes* (each having a unique VIN). Once a bike's VIN is saved to the device, you can reset the service reminder as many times as you want for that bike. Pro units can do this on as many bikes as you want (typically workshop use).
