GS 911 not reading ECU

Hi, I tried to connect the GS-911 to a G650x Challenge, but I am getting an error message saying "failed to read controller info: no response from controller".

I've checked the battery, kill switch, etc, to no avail.  I can do certain performance tests, but no access to ecu data.

How do I find the cause of the problem?  Everything works fine on my other bike, a 1200 GS.

What model of GS911 is it ?
At what point to you receive the Message ?
What "performance" tests are you able to do ?

That message can occur with the 3 wire diagnostic interface on the Rotax 650's when selecting the model via the menu's, you just click past it
