Phone and GS911 on same netword

Something I found today which was interesting is that my GS911 was on the 2.4Ghz network and my iphone was connected to the 5Ghz version of the same network and everything still worked. I was under the impression both had to be on 2.4Ghz.

I assume you are referring to your home network. Some transmit both frequencies on separate password (can be different or same) protected networks. Others only have one password protected network that decides which frequency to use depending on device and/or proximity. Right now 4 of 9 connections are 5 and the rest 2.4 on my home network, all set by the WIFI gods and not me.

Yes I am. Both frequencies have the same password but the GS911 operates on 2.4 and the phone was connected to 5 only and they could still both talk to each other.

Dual-band router
