Throttle Valve Codes - Forcing me into limp mode
« on: March 13, 2021, 03:33:18 AM »
2018 R1200GSA

Having a common issue while riding that puts me into a limp mode and throws up a fault on my TFT display.  If I shut off my engine and turn the power off on the bike it runs like normal until it does it again.  I can usually depend on it happening once on every ride I take.  It's a bit frustrating, especially in traffic when I have to crawl along until I can safely pull off.  Here is a list of the codes that all have a common theme of "Throttle Valve".  I did have some fuel in the tank for a few months over the winter, but I've since used that up and refilled.  Any help would be appreciated.  Here are the codes:

0x3A1411 : Throttle valve 1 (right for Boxer), Initialization

0x3A1423 : Throttle valve 1 (right), control error, deviation from setpoint

0x3A1401 : Throttle valve 1 (right for Boxer), comparing error, raw value

0x3A1441 : Throttle valve 2 (left), Initialization

0x3A1622 : Level 2 monitoring of throttle valve 1

0x3A1400 : Throttle valve 1 (right for Boxer), comparing error, adaptation value

Thanks!

Hello

I would start by clearing the errors.
Then check the wiring and air ducts.
Finally reset the adaptation.
If the errors occur again, the right throttle valve part will need to be replaced

I appreciate the advice.  I’ll be digging into it this weekend along with oil/filter change with air filter.
