GS 911 WIFI Getting Started

I find it very frustrating that all the videos I watched show people
using their laptops, but not showing how they got a program on it
or where they got it. 
Is there a GS911 for Dummies? 
I'm using a Mac and an iphone.

Yes, I did finally manage to do that to update the firmware but
what do I do after that.
I plug in the laptop to the GS911 which is connected to the bike
and nothing happens. Is my laptop supposed to have wifi connected?

Using my iphone I can ge connected to the GS911 but can't reset the
service intervals.  Everything else works but that. It's a gray color and
the other options are black.
YES, it is registered and the firmware is up to date.

Yes the laptop should e connected to your home WiFi & the GS911 connected as well to access service functions which are in the cloud, it sounds like you may be using the iPhone to connect to the GS911 rather than having the GS911 connect to hot spot on the iPhone hence no internet access to use cloud service functions

You could also download & install the PC App to have full local off line functionality, if you are referring to the MAC as a PC you would need to set up a virtual system like parallels to have a windows virtual with the PC App installed

You may be connecting the iPhone to the GS911 directly, rather than having the GS911 connect to a hot spot on the iPhone, which would allow you to employ cloud service functionalities. If you're using a Mac in place of a PC, you may download and install the PC App for complete local off-line capability by creating a Windows virtual machine using software like Parallels.

802Mike I hear ya.  I am not very bright when it comes to tech.  I just do my gs911 chores the ole laptop connected to the gs911 connected to my k1600.  I know there is a better method using the cloud and wifi but I just never could figure it out.  Good Luck.  Tip: My gs911 does not start automatically when connected  to the gs911.  I have to manually launch the GS911 program.  With this new GS911 update what has changed is the GS 911 automatically searches for my bike and does a full scan of all the devices
