"Enhanced Navigation: You can now enable your XKOMBIHI instrument cluster, to use the BMW Connected app."

Thanks and best regards,

Danny

I would assume that if you have an XCOMBIHI cluster, and you do not have the nav enablement or entry on your vehicle order, you can now.. enable it.  ConnectedRide is BMW's phone app that pairs rather nicely with their TFT-enabled motorcycles -- it populates speed limits for wherever you are, can be set up to automatically track your riding and save GPS routes, restore them/play them back, etc..

I just saw that today. I don’t know how it works with the Connected Ride app on the iPhone. Have you figured out what you can do with it?

On my XR, the connectedride app fetches and makes available information like the speed limit for your current road.

My phone also records my rides, and available information from the motorcycle like speed, rpms, throttle, lean angle, G forces, etc..  Very nice for when I tag along on a fun route with someone -- I automatically record it. :)

I’m sorry I didn’t state correctly what I was getting at. You have the option to add Connect Ride to the menu items on the TFT (My Vehicle, Navigation, Media, Telephone).

I see the Connected Ride when going through the menu option I see Connected Ride but there isn’t an option to select anything under that menu item even though my iPhone is connected to the TFT.

what happens when you select, say, the navigation entry?  is it selectable?

If I don’t have any active navigation then nothing. I just don’t know what adding the Connected Ride menu option does.

I be searching all over but still can’t find out what this does.

Prior to enabling connectedride, what did the navigation entry on your main TFT display's main menu do?

I have the ConnectedRidw GPS so I don’t use the Navigation on the TFT but when I did it displayed the upcoming turn.

Okay, so BMW ConnectedRide is the ecosystem.  The Navigator is the BMW-specific GPS unit that you slot into your nav cradle.

The app on your phone allows you to use nav on your TFT without the expensive Navigator unit.  It does a number of other things as well, as previously mentioned.  The only features I use out of it are the ride route recording on my phone, and the speed limit display on my TFT screen.  I do not use a Navigator GPS unit.

Things are getting a little confusing. I do have a ConnectedRide GPS unit in the cradle. What the TFT shows when an active route is going on the  BMW iPhone app is the next turn.

What I’m wondering is what functions you access when you add the Connected Ride menu item for the TFT using the 911.
