I was configuration the Alarm tone on my bike and when i coded it, my alarm sound does not work anymore.
I have the arm/disarm tone enabled on both screens and on the TFT settings but no tone and also no warning tone that the alarm is going to go off. Also does not tone when manually arming with fob, just one indicator flash for "disarm" two for "arm" and three for "already armed".
I tried a couple of different arm delay times and they work correctly, double flash when armed (but no tone :'().
Also, The setting i input on the TFT screen does not reflect the GS-911 and vice versa. How do I get my tone back?

With these settings i got the bike to beep again
but I cant get the alarm to go off. Key was not in range

Interesting enough if i turn on tilt sensor on the TFT The arm beeps 3 times? Not sure what the 3 beeps mean.
But one thing is for sure the GS-911 mess up the TFT for sure. If I turn on all settings on the TFT screen the bike will not beep anymore. I even tried to disable it on the GS-911 and turning it on the TFT and it still wont beep. But the settings I listed about will get it back acting right.
Just now I can't get my alarm to go off any help would be great since i solved 50% of the main issue myself, HEX.

I am having this same problem also and posted about it here (http://forum.hexcode.co.za/forum/index.php/topic,4728.msg16268.html#msg16268) You are the only other person that I have noticed posting regarding this, would be interested to hear from Hex on this as I find it hard to believe no else has this problem.
I took a look at your links and will give them a try and see what happens and report back.
Regarding the 3 beeps/flashes when arming, apparently according to the manual that disables the motion sensor
From manual page 87 (Press button 1 again on the radio-operated key during the activation phase to deactivate the motion sensor (e.g. to transport the motorcycle by train when the severe movements may activate the alarm). Turn indicators flash three times. Confirmation tone sounds three times (if programmed). Motion sensor has been deactivated)
I would really like my arming tone back.

Hey Jim try my settings it should work. In case it doesnt after which only mess with the TFT screen to see if you can get it to beep again.
My Alarm gave a warning tone today but it took me sitting on it to activate then the alarm went off. I tried the kickstand method but that didnt set off the alarm

Wizard you da man!!
Arm, disarm, train mode, warning to siren beeps all work. It seems to be the first screen where you need to set to disable for auto arm and arm/disarm tone for it to tone again. Maybe HEX mixed up the titles on the screen as the order is reversed on the second screen. Its weird that changing the setting doesn't change the TFT settings.
I also tried 60,120 second delay (disable sets it back to the stock 30 second) and disabled the battery saving mode and it still works.
Trying to get the alarm to go off on purpose has always seemed a little inconsistent, sometimes just brushing against the bike in the garage will do it and other times you have to shake the hell out of it, but it worked for me accompanied by the 12 warning tones.
Be interesting to hear HEX's take on this.

" Its weird that changing the setting doesn't change the TFT settings. "
- This is correct it does not
Are all your boxes check on your TFT like mine though? Its just weird that i have it disabled and my TFT screen is also disabled and it still works.
hmmmm....
No problem glad I help someone out! It took me 4 hours messing with the settings to find the right settings. And no it not just you. Many people dont purchase the alarm package on there bikes along with a GS-911
can you check to see if the ECE alarm sound works for you since i cant get my bike to go off lol.. Thanks!
-
You said "TFT screen is also disabled and it still works". But your TFT picture shows all enabled.
My TFT is all checked but the "Warning signal" has "Rising" or "Intermittent" not Loud and ? that you have, might be a Canadian thing as yours is a US version I believe or GS/GSA, 1200/1250.
ECE siren works but I like the US sound better.
-
All TFT Enable/Disable functions work correctly in any combination and also fob activation works as it should tone and all.
-
weird cause when i check them on the right it says off lol and when i uncheck it is on
-
A lot of people get confused on how this is presented. If you look at the picture attached you will see that the tilt sensor is highlighted so available for modification, it is checked so that means it is ON, the OFF at the end means that if you "click" (push wheel to right) that is what you will get not what you have.

Did we get a solution I have the exact same problem
-
I had a problem with my newly received GS911 disabling the alarm on my R1250GS. Fortunately, before making any change the GS911 creates an automatic restore file. I simply did a restore to the earliest created file and got the alarm functioning again. The alarm page definitely needs some work from Hex. It's a trap.
-
Something that caught me out and probably many others is that the alarm doesn't function when the key fob is in range. And then every now and again, it will go off when the fob is in range (but I quite often get a "key out of range" signal while riding, even after changing batteries) so it possibly goes off when the key fob loses connection when close.
-
The alarm will not activate when fob is in range but untill you turn on the bike it is still armed.
The "range" is a very short distance (1 m), usually having the fob in a jacket pocket is fine but sometimes you have to change the storage position to ensure it remains in range while riding and also avoid signal blocking items next to fob. I am not sure if this is a model or a individual bike thing but I have had it happen to me on a rental before and on my own ride once or twice.
I have had the alarm go off in the past when washing the bike when the fob was in my pocket because of where I was standing. To avoid this
1: turn off alarm wth fob (one tone)
2: turn on alarm with fob (two tones)
3: turn on alarm again with fob (three tones). It is now in bike wash (or ferry/train) mode.
To put back in full mode use steps 1,2 or turn bike on and off and let auto arm.
-
Thanks Jim, I was well aware of how to disarm the tilt sensitivity with the double press (living on an island accessed by ferry). My comment was to remind others re activation and range.
-
Have you solved your out of range while riding issue, I know it is annoying while riding cause the first thing you do is start feeling for the fob to make sure it is still there.
-
No I haven't. I just click the warning off and continue riding. It happened to me a little while ago at the start of a one month 14,500km ride and the first thing I did was change the battery. No improvement. i then removed the battery and made sure I could still start the bike with the key fob as well as the plastic key which I could so I just ignored it and continued. The warning usually only lasts a few minutes and then returns to normal function. I do make sure the battery in the fob is changed regularly but I just think it's a weak system. I keep my key in a tank bag when riding (inside the house when at home).
-
It might be that puts it at the edge of range, also depending on what might be in the bag. I place mine in a lower jacket pocket as I walk away and leave my tank bag on.

Hello, I installed the original alarm on the r1250 gs and while coding with gs911, the TFT screen broke its coding, it started giving inconsistent information on the screen and finally I had to go to the authorized service, I definitely recommend doing a retrofit alarm coding with gs911.
-
I have a 2023 model r1250gs, I installed an alarm, while doing the coding with gs911, the screen coding was deleted, it started giving meaningless information on the screen and I went to the authorized service, the authorized service solved the problem by updating the software of the motorcycle again, coding with gs911 seems a bit dangerous, it damages the original coding clusters and crashes the system
