« Last post by hadabadachada on March 30, 2024, 02:24:50 PM »So, I’ve been told, the front does not have preload adjustment, that the ESA just works the dampening on the front, which is why it can not be calibrated.

2013 R1200R looking for info I suppose.
Hooked up my GS911 just to check for codes or anything. Clicking around, oh, I can calibrate the ESA, cool never done that, let’s do it.
Pulls up the screen, front shock and position, (not recognized)
Rear shock and position 555, and 931 or whatever numbers it said.
For some reason it’s not recognizing my front shock, which does in fact have a wire coming out of the bottom, so I’m confused now. Just wondering if anyone has seen or heard of this. Maybe there’s some info I could use, thanks.

« Last post by Jughead on March 28, 2024, 01:56:06 PM »Check the wiring harness just where it is cable tied to the frame below the upper steering yolk. The inner copper wire breaks where the cable flexes. You will have to open the harness up and check each of the 4 wires individually. One of them is most likely broken inside the plastic covering.

GS-911 / Re: Alarm system battery fault code won't clear

The original batteries I removed still showed over 3V and a check of the contacts in the alarm module showed a break between the bridge of the 2 batteries. It looks like back to the dealer for a faulty alarm module, perhaps a replacement. Thanks for everyone's help.

It's a bit vague at best, but below is the cause/description of that fault, looks like you've got a needle to search for in a haystack - I suspect there's going to be a chaffed wire somewhere causing the break.

It's the gen 4 model so it shows a different fault on the dash but I'm sure it's essentially the same thing. I replaced the batteries with fresh ones but perhaps I've not seated them right. I'll open it back up and take another look and make sure they're not faulty with a multimeter.
I hadn't considered that the fault wouldn't show on diagnostics but that would explain why the gs911 wouldn't see it. I'll let you know how I get on.
