Title: New GS-911 w/ latest software can't read OBDII
Post by: DR on July 12, 2021, 08:15:50 PM
As the subject says my new  GS-911 w/ latest firmware can't read my 2021 suv's OBDII system in OBD mode.

It keeps telling my ignition is off__

I have tried plugging the GS-911 in with key-off then starting the engine, plugging it in with the engine running, plugging it in with key turned on but engine not running. Still no joy.

It won't read my auto's OBD.

Any ideas on the problem?

2021 suv's OBDII system in OBD mode

Did you notice that the hood must be open.

Hood open or closed shouldn't matter as my other OBD scanners work with it open or closed.

In any case, just to be thorough, I just tried it again with hood open and still no workie!

I also tried the  GS-911 in OBD mode  on my older farm truck (2003 era), that has no hood switch and it doesn't work on that vehicle either.

It just can't seem to read standard OBD data.

Thank you for doing that,

Did you test using the GS-911wifi (with 10pin connector) & adapter cable , or did you test using the GS-911wifi (with OBD-II Connector)?

What test mode did you use-- Win 10/USB cable, or WiFi utility & phone, or D to D?

GS-911wifi with OBD-II connector but there shouldn´t be any differences with 10pin and adapter
