Title: BMW S 1000 RR 2010 - power mode issues
Post by: Ragingrob on August 29, 2013, 11:45:59 AM
The beast appears to be stuck in hooligan mode (slick). I have had this issue before and had to send the bike back to BMW but I now live in Botswana.
Changing to rain mode does not drop the power as advertised which gets very interesting at times.
The display does show the correct mode selected and the clutch limit switch is working OK.
The only modification that has been done to this bike is the HP Race Power Kit fitted by BMW over a year ago.
Anyone else had this problem and or a solution?

hi i have never seen a issue like this before will do some home work and get some info for you tomorrow.
i know there is a red coding plug under the rider seat which enables the slick mode have you tried unplugging it?

Tried without the plug but no change in power. The system does see that there is no plug inserted.

Another possibility is the "mode" switch has gone bad. The switch gear on these bikes tends to fail sometimes.
