R Series / Re: R1300 GS Questions
« Last post by GS Jim on April 21, 2024, 05:49:05 PM »
Can't say for sure on the 1300 but on the 1200 GS it is in the XKOMBI controller under service functions/coding. Just look through all the different menus.
For all of these sort of things they are in service functions/online usually.
You don't need to have the bike running but you do need to keep the battery above 12.5 volts.

R Series / R1300 GS Questions
« Last post by CollingsBob on April 21, 2024, 03:09:10 PM »
Hello,
I have a R1300 GS..

I cannot find how to do the following:

- change splash screen on TFT

- change number of settings for heated grips

- put a selectable km/hr & mph on TFT

I have had the bike running with the GS911 connected and I can see lots of information about the bike as well as the ability to clear error codes.

Introduce yourself... / Hello from Manitoba

New R1300 GS owner from Manitoba here..just breaking my first BMW in..
I’ve installed a HEXezcan and a Denali B6 tail light…easy install, easy configuration.
Yesterday I connected the GS 911 to the bike…I can read all sorts of information about my bike, but other than reset error codes and flush the ABS I can’t find a way to do anything interesting.
What I would like to do is:

- change splash screen on TFT

- change number of settings for heated grips

- put a selectable km/hr & mph on TFT

GS-911 / Re: April 2024 Update Cannot be installed on Windows 11

I ran the Win11 repair function. Does not help. A complete reinstallation is too time-consuming for me at the moment. It seems that the installation routine hangs when unpacking the "libcef" files (Chromium Embedded Framework).

Thanks for the info!
I tried it on my old Win10 laptop. Here it goes.
Then the installation attempt probably destroyed Win11. Will try to repair Win11.  :-\

GS-911 / April 24 Update: Tachometer Settings?
« Last post by TOMK1600BGA on April 19, 2024, 10:36:54 PM »
I just updated to the new firmware on my GS-911 WiFi. I set my 2023 K1600B up with "cruise lights," very nice feature.

I also wanted to take advantage of the new tachometer settings, but when I went to Instrument Cluster>Service Functions I did not see any of the options discussed in the announcement email.

My bike does have the 10" TFT screen. What is the proper path to access the tachometer settings?

Thanks, Tom

How do I... / April 2024 Software release regarding Rear Light control
« Last post by John-G on April 19, 2024, 04:23:57 PM »

Hi,
Having just installed the new April 2024 software update for the GS911, I have been working through getting the central rear Brake Light to remain on and also act as a rear Marker Light.

My 2021 1250GS is fitted with the original full Weiser Technik Indicator replacement set that I'm very pleased to have, rather than the previously fitted BMW system.

If you also have the full Weiser set up, then just to let you know that for the central rear Marker Light to have a similar intensity to the normal Marker intensity of the Weiser Indicator / Marker / Brake lights I had to set the central Marker Light intensity to 50% rather than the GS911 suggested 10%. Not doing this made it appear as though the outboard Marker Lights had stuck in the Brake Light intensity.

Central Vehicle Electronics/ZFE/GM issues / Hill Start System
« Last post by John-G on April 19, 2024, 04:10:17 PM »

Hi,

I have Hill Start Control on my 2021 R1250GS and it has never worked in the way that I feel it should and also when compared to my previous 2019 R1250GSA.

The problem is that if the angle of incline is less than the computer set figure, then the Hill Start releases before I pull away. This is OK when on level ground but the problem is that on mild inclines when the system releases the Brake and the Bike starts to unexpectedly roll backwards. On my previous GSA the level of the ground had no effect on Hill Start Control and the Brake stayed applied until the clutch bit and started to take up the drive so that I could ride off smoothly.

Question being - Is there any adjustment for the above that can be carried out with the GS911, or possibly could this be added in a later software update?

Thanks.
