I received my GS911WiFi device yesterday but can't get it to talk to my WiFi network ... (USB and D2D works fine)
My WiFi adapter is on 192.168.1.10 but the GS911 software (version 1707.2) does not detect it. When I test the connection I get a "Error while reading from socket" error
PS: I made sure the device is not in D2D mode.
What am I missing here?

Enter the IP No for the GS911 WiFi into the settings of the PC software, beyond that we would need to know which version of Windows to assist

I am using Windows 10 (latest updates) and I have added the IP address in the settings (I am a software engineer and tech savvy. If there are any logs I can look at, please let me know).
PS: I would have attached a picture if this website worked correctly. I get "Internal Server" error whenever I attach anything (and the image is well below your limit @240kb) ...

Chris, I dont work for Hexcode, like you I am in the IT industry, I assume you have installed the WiFi utility, registered the GS911 and updated to the latest firmware ?. I take it when you indicate the WiFi adaptor is 192.168.1.10 that you are looking at your router to see the IP No ?

Yes done all that. D2D (i.e. GS-911 to mobile phone) and direct USB connection works fine its just the Laptop to GS-911 via WiFi bit that doesn't. I use ipconfig to check the NIC.

Ok understood, what does the router show ?, does the GS911 get an IP via DHCP ?, once the GS911 has it's IP No I usually reserve a No

I got it to work ... not entirely sure why but I played around with the Network ID visibility (made it visible for a while then changed it back to hidden). The DHCP table now shows an address for the device. All good, thks!

Good to hear, have not tried a set up with Network ID invisible, will keep that in mind in future testing
