Engine related issues / Distance to valve check ... 406184 miles? Corrupt data?
« Last post by JRWooden on May 09, 2024, 02:50:06 AM »

I'm on a trip currently in Guatemala and fired up the GS-911 today to reset the service light after an oil change.
I've had a GS-911 since I bought my F650GS-twin in 2008. The "distance to valve lash" feature has always worked well for me.

But today when I checked the value, it reported the "Distance to valve check" as 406184 miles
I was running V2312.5  ...

I upgraded to the current version rebooted the laptop and reconnected my GS-911
but still got the same value with the current version of the s/w ...  :-\

Is anybody else seeing this?

It's not the end of the world but thought I'd bring it up.............

Thanks,
Jim

I have saved Autoscans for the bike going way back, but the distance to valve check is not captured...

How do I... / Re: License cannot be validated

Hello

Did you download this feature?
That's the only way to use GS911 USB

I have somehow shut off all the normally diplayed info. Only have speed, tach, time. Fuel remaining and odometer are visible too but DO NOT REGISTER ANY CHANGE, i.e., miles do not advance, fuel gauge doesn't show fuel level decrease. Cruise control works but indicator light isn't visible. Gear indicator not visible. Speed zone information not visible. Unable to turn on heated grips or seats. Unable to change riding modes and mode status not visible. Also: no information or screens available in My Vehicle submenu. Only information there is a vehicle alarm warning but I don't have one installed. No trip meter submenu, no TPMS status submenu, no Service information submenu. Any help, information or suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.
Should have mentioned this first, sorry:  I used the GS-911 to try to change the startup graphic, different speedo and tach display etc. It didn't work out that way. Thought I would be able to change it back but the backup file that was created was corrupted so it's unuseable.

GT1 what is that? I require help to adjust odometer of speedometer and ECU to be the same, I do not mind if it is higher mileage

The last time I used my GS-911 USB it worked fine but now it says that the license cannot be verified and I can't find the way forward. Could anybody help me please. My software is up to date.

General Discussion / BMW R18 Bagger aux lights TFT icon
« Last post by Fleabag on May 08, 2024, 06:15:47 AM »
The bagger is pre-wired for aux driving lights. I assembled the parts and installed the same lights as the Transcontinental, which plugged into a connector behind the fairing. The bagger also has a two-function mode switch that will turn the aux driving lights on or off. The Transcontinental has a light icon engraved on this switch, but on the bagger, there is no engraving switch but the switch does work to turn on the aux lights.

I'm looking for assistance in enabling the bagger's TFT display to show a green light icon when the aux driving lights are turned on. The Transcontinental already has this feature, and I was hoping it would magically work on the bagger. I assume something needs to be programmed or turned on, and I was hoping the GS911 could do it.

General Discussion / Re: Hand brake and foot brake labels backward

Hi Ruan, I've not been on here since the end of 2022 so only just seen your message.
I've just updated to the latest 911 software and about to do a brake flush so will post on what I find.
I solved my ABS issues with a new replacement ABS module. My fault as I only ever flushed the fluid twice in 15 years of ownership :)
Expensive fix but its so good to have the bike like new again.

ezCAN / Re: Deutsche or Superseal connectors?
« Last post by GlynH on May 05, 2024, 07:36:57 PM »
For the second time in 5 minutes I'm replying to my own thread to close it!  :P

Seems the 3-Pin ezCAN connectors are called MT connectors(?) but to me MT connectors will always be a different type used for fibre optic connections.

The 3-Pin connectors fitted to the Schroedie illuminated roundels/emblems are called Superseal 1.5 and so I purchased a set comprising 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6-pin male & female connectors, male & female pins, seals & the red pin retainers for this and future jobs.

The pins can be crimped by changing the dies in my ratchet crimping tool and I have now made my own harnesses up using these connectors sheathed in black braided sleeving with the ends tidied up with heat shrink. Good job if I say so myself!  ;)
