Title: Why Is It Always Weird
Post by: Dimwit on November 14, 2023, 07:00:59 PM
Hello all:) So I just installed a different engine in my 2014 R1200GS. It cranks up and runs good for 30-60 seconds then stalls out with no check eng light etc. GS911 returns a diagnostic code of 0X21FD50 Crankshaft Sensor Interference. I can run with that & check the sensor & wiring etc. What's weird is that I can't find that diagnostic code anywhere in the forum or online and the last time I had a diagnostic code for a different issue, it was the same. I couldn't find any information. I'm new to GS911 and all things BMW so I'm sure there's something I'm doing wrong. Is there a diagnostic code list anywhere? Do the GS911 codes translate to a different format here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

up to and including interruption)
Remove crankshaft sensor and check for contamination (metal abrasion).
Check sensor gap to crankshaft.
Fault Impact
Engine starts poorly or can go off again.
Slow to no more driving possible.
Warnings
Warning Lights
Engine warning lamp on.
Control Center Messages
Service Notes
After rectifying the fault, reset the mixture preparation adaption values.

Thanks for the reply. I've already fixed the problem. My question is how do I look up that code? When I type it into BMW Fault Code Lookup it tells me the code is invalid. Did you have to change the format in order to get the information you pasted?

Those codes can be tricky to search sometimes. This particular one is a Hex Code. Delete the 0X and it works.

It is possible that searching for such codes will be difficult at times. This is an example of a Hex Code that we have on hand. When the 0X is removed, it becomes functional.

Thanks for telling the details. I hope that it will work!
