Title: Unable to install GS-911Downloader-1806.1, Win7 & Win10
Post by: Essnowyt on August 21, 2018, 02:48:36 AM
Hello,

Just got a GS911 Wifi to help with servicing my 2015RT.  I installed the GS911Wifi Utility V1702.1 program and registered my unit.  Next, I went to install the main program from the GS-911Downloader-1806.1.  Both of my computers have not completed the install.  The install barely starts and then nothing happens.  This last attempt Windows identified that the, "GS911- Downloader" has stopped working."

Computer 1: Laptop I7 gen8 Win10 Bit-defender
Computer 2: Desktop I7 gen6 Win7 Bit-defender

I'm not sure what is preventing the install.  Hex, where do I start to get this corrected?

Thank you,

Sounds odd, I would first try running the installer as Administrator, if that does not work, lodge a support ticket with Hexcode

For what it's worth:

My IT guy terminated BitDefender (on Windows 10 platform) and that seemed to be the obstacle to successful install of Downloader.

Thank you,

Definitely BitDefender. Either adding an explicit exception for the software of disabling the anti virus completely should let the Downloader run.
