Error says ignition not on, but it is
txtinman:
My 2003 R1200CLC recently quit running as I was traveling down the interstate. I connected my GS911 wifi to try and find out what went wrong, but I get the error message that says the ignition is not on. It gives a couple of other reasons why it might not be working, but I can't remember them right now. I've used the GS911 on this bike and on my other bike so I know how to do it. No fuses are blown. Any ideas why this is happening? I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is the reason it died, it's failed in the past, but I would like to know why the GS911 isn't able to run a scan.

Just check that there are switched/unswitched voltages at the diags socket before we consider anything else
txtinman:
Well the GS911 powers up. Is that what you mean? Or do I need to put a meter on the pins at the bike?
Mike
WayneC:
If the GS911 is powered up then clearly there is unswitched power but it may well be a fault causing lack of switched power at the socket so yes put a multimeter on the socket to check that pin (10, GeGr wire), also can you tell me if the GS911 socket is a little loose on the GS911 body ?
txtinman:
I can't check it now as I'm at work. Tomorrow I'll check things out and post back. I'll hook it to the other bike as well.
Mike
