2025 S1000XR
« on: April 27, 2026, 06:29:27 PM »
Good day. I am purchasing this bike in a few days and had a question regarding the GS-911 and the S1000XR.
I already own the 911 and updated it to the latest firmware. Is my new 2025 XR fully supported?

I also have a question regarding if the bike has Dynamic Pro mode locked out? If it does will resetting the first service with the 911 enable it if it is locked out? I live quite far from any dealer so this is my reason for not wanting to go to a dealer in the first place.

 Regards, Jack

Hello Jack
I think that should all be doable.

Take a look here.

Thanks for the reply, it is greatly appreciated. The issue I'm having is I don't even know what or if it has this RPM limiter and if it is a function that the 911 can resolve. Truthfully the dealer is pretty bad and not providing me with any info other than if you skip doing factory checkups it will be bad. I've dealt with many dealerships in my day and this one is near the bottom. Hopefully I can find someone with the same generation of bike to clear this up.

edit: digging deeper into the engine module I read and wonder if this is what I am looking for.

XBMSO1 Configurations   Switch RPM limit   Enable or disable the controller limit on engine speed   [S, F, C, R, G, K]
Switch demo mode   Enable or disable the showroom/demo mode   [S, F, C, R, G, K]

locked out rider modes

run the VIN through a suitable chassis decode tool, you are looking to see if built with - Rider Modes Pro   https://bimmer.work/
if its not shown on the VO then you'll need to pay to get it enabled

the other madness that catches people out - if you have 5 or more rider modes, the useless TFT display's ant brain can't cope - you have to disable one of the four displaying, to be able to switch on one of the others

as for enabling toys that were not on at build via third party tools - this has come to an end on late model year bikes, Sept 2024 or later built bikes have secure gateway access making everything game over
