DME Issue
« on: January 05, 2026, 08:21:52 PM »
I just returned from my dealer. I recently used the GS911 to code up the proper speed in my US bike, so I can switch to km/h from MPH. After that I let the bike sit for a few weeks, and yesterday when I took it out it was in a 'limp' mode. I carted the bike up and took it to the dealership today. They put it on their diagnostic machine and it came back with a ton of errors. The master mechanic (who I've known for close to 20 years now), said he had never seen a bike like that before, he said it was almost as if a new DME had been installed, so the bike had no idea what settings certain things should be at. He was able to reset all of them except one. I keeps faulting and won't recode. They have opened a ticket with BMW, but now I'm wondering if my coding using the GS911 could have done this? We may have to install a new DME in the bike depending on what BMW tech support says.

Just a bit of an update here. The dealer replaced the DME and it's still got the same issue. As the tech put it, it's almost as if there was some programming that was incomplete and it's waiting for that transaction to happen. He's got a call into BMW, so we'll see what happens next.

Lodge a support ticket with Hexcode so they are aware of the issue even though it may not be due to the coding done
