Hello, I bought a BS lithium battery for my 2012 model BMW R1200GS Adventure motorcycle about a year ago. I have never had any problems with the battery. 6 months ago, I installed the Lonerider fog light set and the Hexcan device on my motorcycle. Last month, my motorcycle sat in the garage for about 3 weeks and when I turned the ignition, I saw that there was no energy left in the battery. Neither the dashboard nor any of the lights were working. I charged the battery. Everything is normal but I think the Hexcan is consuming electricity when the ignition is off. Tomorrow I will check how much electricity it draws from the battery with the ignition off. Have you experienced such a problem?

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out.

Does the ezCAN go into sleep mode a few seconds after the ignition is turned off? If the Green LED on the ezCAN turns off, this tells us the ezCAN has gone to sleep. In the sleep state, the ezCAN power draw would be inconsequential.

Were you able to test for any more draw with the bike turned off?

Lastly, how is the bike stored? Litium batteries can misbehave (oversimplification, I know) or fail prematurely if exposed to sub 0°C (32°F). It's recommended to keep these batteries between 0-25°C when in use and charging.

Kind regards,
Werner.
