Engine load parameter

What is the "engine load" parameter more precicely?
What parts is it made up of and how is it calculated?

What is it supposed to used for?
Would it be possible to estimate fuel consumption from this as an alternative to rpm x injection time?

I bet we have to ask the people at Hella, Bosch or BMW for that  :D
I bet even more we will NOT get a answer  ;D

GS911 only let us see what the ECU tell. Some of the info "we" know what mean- some we dont.
I am NOT a member of the GS911 team, this is just MY personal comment.

Engine load is calculated using the air flow (also calculated in our case since these bikes have no airflow sensor - using temperature,pressure,rpm, cylinder displacement) and engine speed. The volume air flow divided by the engine speed determines the engine load factor.

The GS-911 does not calculate this - it is calculated by the ECU.

Part of closed loop operation (and a few other calculations I would guess).
