Cant configure channels
« on: May 28, 2025, 11:17:02 PM »
Hi

I have a ezCAN gen 2 fitted to a BMW F800GT

I Cannot configure the channels.

I have connected 2 (yellow) spotlights to the red channel, 2 (white) spotlights to the blue channel  and a led brake light to the yellow channel. The white channel is unused.

I have tested the channels via the diagnostics page and used the slider to check the outputs are ok, and all is good.

I can change the configuration of the channels (red to aux1, blue  aux2, yellow brake)  and I have tried pressing apply after each change and also and the end of the 3 changes. The apply box does not seem to change when clicked on though.

But the moment I go into the menu  to change the  configuration of the channel the 4 channels change back to the default settings.

I have made these settings with the ignition on but not the engine running. Would that affect it.

I have looked at the youtube videos and cant see that I am doing anything wrong

Update

following the advice on: post#7
https://www.r1200gs.info/threads/hex-ezcan-problems.56867/

I reset the device.
Still no joy I tried changing the screen resolution on my laptop from native 3840x 2160 to 1920x1080. Then I could apply the settings for the red channel. Tried the blue channel - no joy. bounced back the resolute to native and I could apply the settings!!!
Every time i wanted to apply a change I had to change the resolution.
Stupidly frustrating but at least I am all configured and up and running!

Hi Stringman

For next time, you can keep the resolution at 4k and just adjust the scaling to the recommended percentage - this is the workaround we currently give to all customers facing this issue. We are working on a more permanent resolution though!

Kind regards
Ruan

Ruan
without wishing to be rude, if this is a known bug/issue would it not make sense for it to added to the instructions or at least added to the FAQ of the website?
It was frustrating that I could not fill in the web contact page because I did not have the bike with me (so no serial number) and A reply to this post(not that you should expect prompt replies on any forum) was 12 days.
But its good to know the work around.
Thanks

Hi Stringman

No problem with the commentary, I can appreciate that fully. In future, for any support related queries, the best point of contact would be our helpdesk - we man this Monday-Friday 08h-17h. You can reach us on support@hexinnovate.com

Our forum is a public forum that allows users of all different walks of life to weigh in on each other's scenario and/or problems they're experiencing, mostly for mechanical problems and how to address them. We do offer support here, but as I mentioned, the best point of contact will always be to reach out to support directly.

I will be checking whether there is a place in our FAQs for this workaround, as you mentioned, this should be a resolution one can find on your own.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Kind regards and safe travels
Ruan
