Electric Screen not working
« on: December 25, 2013, 04:17:34 AM »
Hi
My 2006 K1200gt electric screen is not working ...I have a spare motor which wont work when connected either. However if I bring a 12V supply and earth to the yellow and green wires going to the motor it will move up and down [by reversing polarity].
When I Check with the GS911 I get fault code 41765 ...on ZFE  I have attached autoscan.  Also when I use live data I can see switches working when pressed; on/off. There is a line for windscreen sensor which reads 0, also further down the list there are two windscreen powers only one of which is showing...
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Henry

Hi Henry
There is a microswitch on the right side of the screen mechanic to fix the end positions of the screen. Please look for the wiring and cable connectors.
May be the switch is faulty.

Merry christmas everybody

Hi
I have completely removed the mechanism and checked the wiring....and there definitely is no microswitch or wiring going to the mechanism...except the plug for the motor....the limits must be detected by the ZFE...as far as I can see.

Hi Henry
You're right, there is no outside switch. It must be included in the actuator.
But now i am out, can't find any wiring diagram. Sorry

ok Thanks
Would appreciate a wiring diagram if you can.
Still feel the problem is with the ZFE.
But hope it is not.!

Hello,
did you use the GS 911 Beta 1310.1 ?
There is a windscreen calibration included. May be it would help.
And please, check the connectors an cable pins. That's what the fault code means >> interruption, can't ditect the
position of the windscreen

Thank you for the diagram
however I cannot make out the pin numbers from the scan. Do you mind me asking where did you get this from...is it available on line or from BMW etc. Also if it is possible to rescan it at a better resolution please. Thanks once again for your kindness.

Hi, I can not tell for sure but the scan seems like its done from a original BMW "paper" edition.
NOT sure as I believed the electical shematics for all new bikes was PDF. and sold on a DVD.
The part number for the BMW workshop manual is: 01 59 7 720 811
I am NOT sure the electrics are part of the DVD tho :-(
(A online search showed a online price of 150$???)
Ask your dealer!!
OR call this firm:  http://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop/Parts.php?T=4&NU=15&M=50&Ct=SN&spPage=2

Hi guys
I have followed the wiring diagram fully and not found any breaks in continuity anywhere, all powers are present where they should be,as are all ground connections. The inputs into the ZFE from the switch gear on LH bar are all functioning as they should. The output wires to the motor assembly also are without breaks. the only thing I found is that one output wire which drives the motor has 9.7V in it continually even when no switch is pressed and if the motor is connected there is a low pitch humming sound audible . This voltage is too low to drive the motor; it needs 12V and works fine if 12V is brought to it when disconnected from circuit.By pressing the switch on LH bar makes no difference to the voltage in the No2 pin. I am of the opinion that my ZFE is in trouble.
I know where I can source one with the same part number just would like to know if it is a simple plug and play job or will I have to go to BMW

Electric Screen Now Working !!!!

Hi Guys
I sourced a ZFE from a R1200RT which was the same part number and the Lear software number also matched. Delighted to say that all works fine now after resetting the motor limits .
I would like to thank all who helped me here in any way .

Regards

Henry. :)
