3 Wire Auxilliary Brake Light Wiring
« on: January 05, 2025, 02:25:06 AM »
I picked up an auxilliary brake light to install on my GSA with the ezCan, the issue is it has 3 wires one for daytime running light and one for the brake. With my previous aftermarket aux brake lights there were only two so easy peasy.  Should I just use the brake light wire and let the ezCan control both drl and brake etc?

This light has 24 LED's so I'm wondering if the DRL wire only controls 12 of them and the brake wire connects to all 24.

Thanks in advance...

Hi Ron

With brake lights, the lights handle a dimmer illumination using a separate wire and full with another. You can test this by connecting it directly to the battery, it should utilise all LEDs, just at different intensities. Once you've identified the brake wire, the DRL wire can be taped off and the ezCAN will dim the lights on the brake wire.

Kind regards and safe travels
