translated to English: Hello,
I have been driving a K1300R since March 2015.
After 40,000 kilometers that I've driven with it, the front shock absorber leaked and I had to exchange it for a used one that had already run 12,000 kilometers.
The exchange was a little fiddly, but with a friend's help, it turned out to be no problem.
Now my question.
I have been told that the shock absorber needs to be calibrated or reset in order for it to function properly.
Is that possible with my GS-911, or do I have to go to my friends?
I couldn't find anything about it in the manual
I hope you can help me.
Have a nice weekend and many crease-free kilometers,
Frank
Hello Frank, welcome to the GS911 forum
Unfortunately I can't tell you exactly how it works. But I found the following.
calibration
Work after which an ESA calibration is necessary:
- Replacing the ESA rear shock absorber
- Replacing the ESA shock absorber in front (only for Enduro ESA)
- After replacing or reprogramming the ZFE control unit
- After an ESA-relevant error memory entry and subsequent repair
Depending on the driver's wishes, the central chassis electronics (CFE) control unit energizes the servomotor for spring adjustment and the stepper motors for rebound and (if present) compression adjustment of the dampers.
That's why I'm assuming that the ESA function can be found in the ZFE via the autoscan.
So just select the ZFE and see what functions, service work the program offers.
Hello Wolfgang,
thank you for your help.
So if I understand correctly, the front ESA strut needs
only be recalibrated at Enduro ESA when the shock absorber is replaced.
Since the K1300R is not an Enduro,
so there is no need to calibrate.
But I'll connect the GS-911 at the weekend and see if I can find anything.
Greeting,
Frank
