Glutterbeast:
Hi,
Just purchased a new phone, a Droid Turbo 2 with Android Version 5.1.1.
I now need to download the app to bluetooth it to my GS 911 device (enthusiast). I found the app and since it now cost $9.99 I wanted to make sure that it is compatible with my phone. Hate to pay for it and find it won't run. Anyone know if it will work?
Thanks in advance!

You don't need the app to run scans. Just use a browser pointed at 10.0.0.1. Have the GS911 broadcasting it's own wifi signal. You can do everything you want.

I don't believe that my GS 911 will broadcast wi-fi, it's a cable only. But, I could be wrong, I am a bit of a newb here.

If it's red/black is supports WiFi.

If it's yellow and supports cable only (GS-911usb model), you have no use for the app. You can't connect to the phone with a cable.

To be able to use the app, you need to have the GS-911blu model (enthusiast or professional both work) with Bluetooth support.

Glutterbeast:
Yep, no wi-fi, have the yellow model. It does have blue tooth. It mated with my old phone for use on the road to trouble shoot any issues. Worked very well, but the question remains if the app will run on my new phone, Droid Turbo 2 running  5.1.1 on Verizon.
