Fuel strip to float conversion R1200gsa 2007
« on: August 12, 2023, 11:42:48 PM »
Hi. New to the gs-911 so please be gentle.
My fuel strip has failed again so I want to convert to float. Please can anyone tell me if the gs-911 can perform the necessary ecu change once the wiring pins have been correctly relocated?

Hello
I have not yet done such a conversion,
but yes, as the function chart describes it,
the ZFE can be recoded.

ZFE Configuration    Fuel Sensor    Switch between Lever type and Film type fuel sensors

I could not find a R series float that would fit the RT tank. (2010)

Did the pin swop, fitted a 39 Ohm resistor and did the change from 'film' to 'lever' with the GS-911.

Worked.

Good luck.

I put on the Fuel sensor strip today and tried it out for the first time. I thought something was wrong, but after a few hundred feet, the fuel level showed up and the MPG and range worked fine. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
