TPS Support for BMW R1200C 1998 - (Throttle Position Sensor)
(1/1)

Hi,
Thanks in advance for your help. I would like to know if I can reset Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) for my motorbike BMW R1200C 1998. From the GS-911 documentation seems yes (https://www.hexgs911.com/motronic-ma2-4/). I do not have the bike with me so I cannot test, but I need to buy a spare part and after installation I need to reset it.
Thanks
Giacomo

Hi Giacomo
Yes, you can adjust the TPS using the GS-911, our function chart highlights all supported functionality for the R1200C below - for the MA2.4:
https://www.hexgs911.com/motronic-ma2-4/
For your bike in general:

Kind regards
Ruan

Yes Jack, you can use the GS911.
Just a heads-up though. The C's TPS is on the side of the throttles bodies as normal, but the throttle bodies are hidden inside the airbox, and an absolute bitch to get to. I have a template somewhere that I made a few years ago for drilling 2 holes in the LHS of the airbox to be able to adjust it (relatively) easily.
Normal procedure would be to remove the airbox containing the TBs. Remove the TBs from the airbox and fit them to the bike without the airbox. Once the adjustment is done, remove the TBs from the bike, reinstall back into the airbox, and refit everything to the bike.
