Can EWS immobilizer circuit be disabled by the GS-911 ?
(1/1)
JRWooden:
Honest ... I searched first and could not find a thread on this, so here I go:
While it doesn't fail often ... It does seem the EWS circuit on many BMW bikes is not as reliable as it might be...
My question is: Can the EWS immobilizer circuit be disabled by the GS-911 even if only temporarily?
I would guess that the programming team at BWM didn't code that in as an option, but wanted to ask.... ???
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim. I know for a fact that the BMW service center diagnostic machine can dig into the BMW code way deeper then the gs911. You may have to take her in to the shop and pay the min price to have your bike hooked up. I would question the mechanic before you waste your time. Not all BMW mechanics are "Good" at their job. each shop should have at least One Good Mechanic and several low dollar helpers

Thanks!
I'll ask next time I'm by the dealership.
If at all possible I think it would be a GREAT feature update to the GS-911 8)

There seems to be more internet content on disabling it in cars but that's not really helpful.

The short answer is - No!
The longer answer is also - No!
It is part of the security system, so cannot be disabled, even by BMW.
