Selecting Proper Model
« on: August 29, 2022, 11:25:13 PM »
Hey Gang, Brand new here so be gentle. I just rec3eived my new GS-911 For my 2002 BMW K1200RS. Downloaded everything I needed to my phone and PC Windows. I missed a section at first but later found it so here goes. I'm having an issue with the bike running rich. So when I ran a scan I had three errors come up that had numerous fault code reports but not showing up now. I had this before, but I won't get into details. It's rearing it's ugly head again so I'm wanting to clear the fault codes to see if the codes were old ones or new ones but the instructions state I must select a "model". The "detected vehicle" is not picking up my model so I must use the "select vehicle" tab and choose a model. I have NO idea what model to select. My choices are:
K001 (LIN & CAN Bus, CAN port)
K024 (BAN Bus, K-Line Port)
K1X (K-Line Bus & Port)
They say it's important to choose the correct one so that's where I need help. I guess until I select the proper one I cannot clear and faults.
Thanks for any guidance, greatly appreciated.

2002 BMW K1200RS would be K024 (CAN Bus, K-Line Port) model - K589 (K1200RS, K1200LT 1996 to 2008)

Use RealOEM or https://www.hexgs911.com/vin-decoder/ & enter VIN to see a model info it you are ever unsure

For what it's worth, I used the VIN Decoder link and it said my 2019 S1000XR was a K1600 and had a 10 pin round connector instead of the 16 pin Rectangular connector

I wuld suggest reporting the VIN Decoder error to Hexcode https://www.hexcode.co.za/contact-us-1
