TPM Heads-Up

Jughead:
Just a quick heads-up regarding the tyre pressure monitors.

BMW has changed the TPMs to a completely different style.  When ordering a TPM for the older bikes with the part number 36 31 8 532 731, you would expect to get this:

You will, however, receive the new part, which is only the part circled in green below.

In addition to this part, you will also need to order the valve insert (left) part number: 3631 8565 086, and the nut (right) part number: 3631 8359 962.

These items have been available on the Wunderlich America website (https://www.wunderlichamerica.com/) for some time now.  Search on RDC.

Thank you Karlh

My post, however, had nothing to do about where they are available.  My post was purely related to BMW, and the fact that, when ordering the TPM (from BMW) on the old number, you get supplied with a completely different part, this being only ⅓ of what you actually need.

Thank you for the heads-up regarding the change in BMW's tire pressure monitors. It is important to ensure that the correct parts are ordered to avoid any issues or complications during installation. Your information regarding the need for the valve insert and nut is also helpful for anyone who may be ordering these parts.

Incredibly BMW wants US$33 and US$12 for those parts but I can buy them both as a Schrader part at a tire store in Canada for Cdn$4!
