Connecting GS911Wifi
(1/1)
sbrntnghm:
Tried to connect to 16 R1200RS today with version 2104.1 and got message that it could not get data when trying to perform autoscan on bike. Last scan I did was probably 8 months ago and it was no problem with this version. Do I need to download a new version?

A little more info would be needed re whether you were connecting via US or or browser but there has been a lot of work on firmware & PC App since April 2021 so updating firmware & PC App would be worthwhile, it is best to always keep both up to date

Was connecting using USB cable. Also, had performed a firmware update just prior to connecting to bike. Still running older software as I was getting message that it was more than a year old. Today updated software to latest GS911 diagnostics supporting all languages but have not tried it. Bike was resting on side stand in neutral with kill switch on, and ignition was on. What more information might be needed? Thanks

The info in the last post is all that that was needed, keeping firmware up to date is important for cloud service functions
You can continue run the old legacy PC App version 2104.1 on the PC along with the completely new GS911 Diagnostics App which is where App updates will be done from now on, there are many improvements & added capabilities for many models in the new App
If you encounter any issues with the new App lodge a support ticket with Hexcode

Update to all this. Made sure that GS911 connected correctly to plug, used USB cable to connect to laptop, turned on ignition. Opened the older 2104.1 version and tried to complete an Autoscan, error was given that it could not get CAN data, tried twice. Closed this application and opened the newest GS911 Diagnostics app, Autoscan ran without problems. Conclusion is that older 2104.1 will not work correctly.
